JKF gives scholarships worth 2.94m

The 2015 JKF Form One Scholarship Award ceremony was held at the JKF grounds on Monday, February 16, 2015. The chief guest of honour was Education Principal Secretary, Dr. Belio Kipsang.

During the event, JKF presented a cheque of KShs. 2.94m to 47 beneficiaries drawn from Kenya's counties.

Dr. Kipsang urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the kind gesture by studying smart. By so doing, they would not only realize their lifelong dreams, but also give back to a society that sacrificed so much to educate them.

On his part, the Chairman of the JKF Board of Directors, Mr. Jacob Mwirigi, assured the beneficiaries of JKF support through their secondary education subject to good performance and discipline.

JKF Ag. Managing Director, Mrs. Rosemary Barasa said the company has had to cut down on the number of beneficiaries due to diminished income owing to stiff competition in the book industry. She urged schools to buy JKF books in large quantities as every time they did so, a portion of the money generated went to educating the needy but bright secondary school students.
