Kenya Library of the Year (Maktaba Award) 2015


The 2015 Maktaba Awards, which recognizes Kenya's best libraries, was held at the Nairobi National Museum on Tuesday Evening, 29th September 2015.

Dr Robert Ouko Memorial Library won both the overall library of the year and the best community library awards. Alliance High School won in the best public school library award category while the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa was recognized as the best private school library.

All the winners were awarded courtesy of the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Arts and the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation.

In attendance were Office of the Ombudsman chair Amollo Otiende , who was the chief guest, Goethe Institute director Dr Nina Wichmann , Kenya Library Association CEO Richard Atuti and Jomo Kenyatta Foundation Ag. MD Rosemary K.A. Barasa .
